Record Keeper
Lonestar Program Controls Group, LLC (Lonestar) is seeking an Administrator for projects based in the Houston, Tx area. The incumbent can look forward to projects including various assignments for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork;
  • reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to original agreement;
  • monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws;
  • determines payments due contractor for work completed;
  • maintains liaison with construction inspectors and contractor’s staff and trains others.

Work requires contact with the public. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Essential Duties For This Job Include:

  • May attend pre-construction meetings to instruct contractor’s bookkeeper on record-keeping procedures.
  • Monitors contractor’s compliance with federal requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunity and wages.
  • Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates; checks calculations against work log and estimate form to verify work is completed before payment is made.
  • Prepares and types correspondence, reports, and supporting documents; files, orders supplies and equipment.
  • Processes change orders, supplemental agreements and extra work orders.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

The Required Competencies For This Job Include:

Desired Qualifications:

  • 6 years in Construction record keeping, accounting.
  • Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • Related College Education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis.
  • DBE and SBE programs.
  • Reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints and maps.
  • Preparing and maintaining records, files and reports.
  • Communicating technical information effectively.
  • The use of computers and applicable programs, applications and systems.
  • Maintaining a safe working relationship.
  • Competency and use of Site Manager a Construction Management Program.

Administrative Assistant
Lonestar Program Controls Group, LLC (Lonestar) is seeking an Administrator for projects based in the Houston, Tx area. The incumbent can look forward to projects including various assignments for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities.

Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to record data efficiently and methodically with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills with computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel
  • A hard working and highly motivated individual
  • Must be capable of producing work on time and to high standards of accuracy
  • Competency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Client focused with good interpersonal skills and team approach
  • Willing and able to visit other locations on company business (if necessary)
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to continued education and improvement through participating in our approved training scheme
  • Creative, practical, adaptable and enthusiastic
  • Ability to structure and prioritize work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole
  • Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative or focus

Preferred Qualifications:
Some or all of the following certifications:

  • TxDOT contract experience
  • Experience with Certified Payroll and DBE Audits

Construction Inspector I-V:
Inspects construction methods and workmanship to ensure contractors build roadways, bridges, traffic signals, airports and related structures in accordance with plans and specifications; acts as consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution; may serve as the only inspector on a construction project or assist in overseeing construction inspection activities for large and complex projects within a district or conduct statewide construction inspection activities for ongoing airport improvement projects. Responsible to a licensed professional engineer who has full authority for approval of work. Work requires contact with contractors. May perform materials tests and manufacturing process inspections at fabrication sites.

The essential duties for Construction Inspector I-V include:

  • Attends pre-construction meetings and answers questions from contractors and other attendees
  • Calculates payments due contractors for work completed.
  • Ensures contractors build roadways, bridges, and related highway structures and/or airport improvements in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Observes and inspects ongoing construction work.
  • Prepares and reviews correspondence.
  • Prepares monthly and final estimates.
  • Resolves differences in interpretation of plans and specifications
  • Documents work progress and issues arising throughout scope of project.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

The required competencies for Construction Inspector I-V include:

  • Applicable inspection methods, procedures, and techniques
  • Applicable testing methods, processes, and procedures
  • Basic traffic management and control procedures
  • Applicable industry safety standards, guidelines, and specification codes
  • Applicable surveying procedures, standards, and instruments
  • The Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
  • Reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints, and maps
  • Performing calculations using algebra, trigonometry, and geometry
  • Using computers and applicable programs, applications, and systems
  • Maintaining a safe working environment
