Puerto Limón, officially established in 1852, contains two port terminals, Limón and Moín, which permit the shipment of Costa Rican exports as well as the anchoring of cruise ships. Located about 160 nautical miles from the Caribbean entrance of the Panama Canal – the new $1.1 billion state-of-the-art Moín facility will add about 150,000 jobs and some $3 billion to the country’s Gross Domestic Product. Costa Rica is positioned to become a port and logistics leader in Central American and the Caribbean.
